I worked with author Doctor Richard Hamblyn and publisher David & Charles in association with the Met Office to edit and proofread a set of 50 cards that explain the formation and implications of different cloud types and how to understand the skies.
The Cloud Deck helps users to identify individual clouds as they might appear at any given moment and track their likely changes over time. Alongside descriptions of the clouds’ appearance and nature are notes on their implications for the weather.
A special viewfinder – a cut-out window at the back the deck – can be used outdoors to frame a single cloud or a portion of the sky with clouds. This allows users to compare the shapes, sizes and textures of the clouds they’ve isolated against the images and descriptions on the cards.
